What is MS office?

Word processing implies the use of computer based system for entertaining, editing, printing of textual material which can be in the form of letters, memos, reports, manuals, draft and almost all documents required in our day to day life especially in office.

Word processing is the process of using computer to write, correct edit and store the text. Examples, MS Word, Word perfect, word star etc. the feature of protect document is that the other unauthorized users will not be able to access, see or use the document.

What is MS office?

Microsoft office is a set of application programs, packed together which includes a word processing package WORD, spreadsheet package, EXCEL, a database management package, ACCESS, a presentation package POWER-POINT, and a scheduling and organization package OUTLOOK. Each of the packages of MS-Office can be used separately or they can be used together where needed.

Some application programs it consists of.

a) MS Word:

MS-Word is an application software. Which is develops by Microsoft company USA. It is known as word processing application software. It is used by home users and business purpose in small officer for letter typing, thesis writing and other text formatting applications. It is highly advanced than previous word processing software such as WP, Word start etc.

b) MS Excel: 

It is spreadsheet application program. It is a part of MS Office which is a suite of application programs. It allows user to create, manipulate and analyze data organized in columns and rows. The spreadsheet is displayed on the screen, stored in the memory and its print out can be taken. Spreadsheet programs are widely used in accounting, sales, inventory control, financial aspects of business, salary preparation etc. Excel provides various charts i.e. pie chart, bar chart etc. and layout options.

c) MS Access:

It is a relational database management system. MS Access is designed to create database tables, data entry forms and reports based on the records which programmer creates. It allows arranging data and using them for queries and searches to give desired information. It helps programmers to manage large amounts of information and to show relationship among records.

d) MS Power Point:

It is a presentation package. It helps users to create interactive, self-running or speaker-controlled visual displays. It uses multimedia technology to include text, photographs, drawing, and graphs, audio and video clips in presentation. Presentation created in power point can be used to accompany lectures or as the basis for web sites.

e) MS Outlook:

Spreadsheet package:

Spreadsheet package is a software tool for data analysis? It allows users to quickly create manipulate and analyze data organized in columns and rows, Spreadsheet package are widely used in accounting, sales, inventory control, financial aspects of business, tabulation of marks, and a number of business and non-business problems. Today several Spreadsheet package are available which can be used to prepare budgets, forecast future cash needs, and prepare examination etc. Examples: MS Excel, Lotus, 1-2-3 etc.
