Well last Tuesday one of our seasonal products that sells best from November to end of January had an $800 day .... which is a 17% increase over the same day last year.
Seeing this obviously made us happy, but it also reminded me of an email we had received from a potential affiliate a few months back.
Remembering this email is what prompted me to write this email.
In the email the potential affiliate said something like "Your product and sales letter look fantastic and I would love to promote it, but it's to bad that it only sells well in the winter."
He went on to say how "he can only promote a product that makes him money all year long."
This viewpoint is incredibly short sighted from an income standpoint and unfortunately this is a common perception held by affiliates and product creators alike.
The fact is, promoting and/or selling seasonal products can be a very lucrative model and also make a very nice add-on to your other revenue sources.
Let me give you an example using our product.
All the sales we made last Tuesday were referred by affiliates and we pay out a 50% commission. And since we had an $800 day, that means we also paid out $800 in commissions...to only 5 affiliates!
Would you complain about an extra $61k in your pocket just because it was seasonal and you had to wait till a specific part of the year to receive it?
I can assure you, we don't!
Also, in my experience seasonal info products have less competition in terms of affiliate promotion and ranking high in the search engines is much easier due to the seasonal nature of the products.
Therefore earning with seasonal products is much easier than in some of the more heavily trafficked niches.
The moral here is don't avoid promoting or creating a product just because it is seasonal and its earnings might not be consistent.
Inconsistent does not always = unprofitable.
Food for thought as you go about researching products to promote or create.
